Article 17 of the Personal Status Law and its amendments stipulates Law No. 1 of 2000, which states the following: – (cases arising from the marriage contract are not accepted if the wife’s age is less than sixteen years Gregorian age, or if the age of the spouse is less than eighteen years Gregorian at the time of filing the lawsuit, if the marriage is established in any writing, and divorce cases between the spouses that challenge sect and religion are not accepted, unless their law permits it.
